Electron luminescence (EL) was first discovered in 1936 by Dr. Destria. Even though it has a 60 years history, because of the recent development of solid-state chemistry and pellicle semiconductor technology, EL technology has been more applicable and will become more convenient and popular. There are two types of EL: organic and inorganic. The latter has mainly been used for research. However, organic EL has the value to be industrialized.

  Properties of EL:
  • Wide range of colors
  • Well-distributed luminance
  • Long service life
  • Easy to repair
  • Ultra-thin and extremely light
  • Resistant to water and pound
  • Easily shaped and equipped
  • Both AC and DC power can be used
  • Lower power consumption
  • No heat generation
  • No light pollution
  • Reliable
  • Relatively inexpensive
  • Brightness adjustable
  • Strong shockproof
  • Can be made in to any shapes
